I like to pretend I am comfortable speaking in public. I like to think I can get up in front of a room of friends, colleagues, relatives, or strangers and flawlessly give a presentation, a reading or recite three lines in front of a camera.
And as I reminded myself this weekend when I did a reading at my cousin's wedding, I am scared out of my mind to talk in front of a crowd! For a communicator, it's quite the anomaly.
Today, this fact was, once again, brought to the forefront of my mind when USAID's 50th Anniversary video went live. Because guess who makes a little cameo. That's right. Me.
So, acting may not be my true calling. I might be better just writing the talking points rather than speaking them. But, either way, check out the video. It shows all the amazing things USAID is doing. You can't see it, but I am also wearing a really cute dress.
And, seriously, Happy 50th Anniversary USAID. I am really proud to work at such an amazing Agency.
